What to Bring
Summer Camp Packing List (initialing items with permanent marker is recommended):
Sleeping bag and/or bedding/sleeping pad & pillow
Full Class A uniform (including neckerchief w/ slide) with hanger
Several Class B T-shirts
Bathing suit(s)
Sneakers/hiking books and water shoes/flip-flops
Sweatshirt/jacket
Poncho/rain gear
Several changes of clothes, including Scout shorts and long pants, and some warm clothes for sleeping
Bath towel(s)
Toiletries
Insect repellent
Sun screen
Scout Handbook (photocopy signed pages before leaving home)
Flashlight, lantern and/or headlamp (w/ extra batteries)
Pocket knife (optional and only with Totin' Chip)
2 Canteens/Nalgene water bottles
Pens and small spiral notebook
Merit badge schedule and any completed pre-requisites
Camp map
Orienteering compass
Small knapsack/day pack/drawstring bag for daily use
Medication/EpiPen if necessary (advise camp nurse ahead of time)
1/4 inch rope/clothesline (10-feet)
Mosquito netting for over bed
Timepiece (wristwatch or otherwise)
Hand sanitizer and several masks
Labeled footlocker to hold the above items (link is a suggested style of footlocker).
Four 1/2 inch diameter by 36-inch long dowels and duct tape to create corner posts on cot for netting
Camping chair
Soccer ball, basketball, football, frisbee or the like, and/or reading material, for down time
Fishing rod & reel/tackle (for Fishing Merit Badge; otherwise optional)
SCOUT SPIRIT
PLEASE: Parents NO packing for your son; NO excessive amounts of food/snacks; NO massive footlockers
PARENTS must also wear Class A uniform shirt, Troop neckerchief and slide at breakfast and dinner in the dining hall.
