Baiting Hollow Scout Camp
Baiting Hollow Scout Camp is owned and operated by the Suffolk County Council and has been serving Scouting since 1926. In 2016, it celebrated 90 years of outdoor experiences for the youth of Suffolk County. Located on the North Shore of Long Island in Calverton, the camp has a freshwater lake and access to a beachfront on Long Island Sound.
BHSC provides year round camping and programs for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venture Crews, Exploring Posts and their families. Programs include Winter, Spring, and Summer Camp programs, COPE & Climbing Wall, Family Camping, leadership training, and much more.

What to Bring:
Treat this as a regular camping trip, but cars will be close by. (We will monitor the weather up to our departure for last minute updates.) Bathroom facilities are readily available.

Frame pack (Troop has several to loan)
Floored tent with rain fly (Scouts can sleep in their own tent or make tenting arrangements with another Scout; the Troop has tents to loan. LIMIT TWO TO A TENT)
Sleeping pad/sleeping bag/camp pillow
Water bottle with carabiner
Bug repellent (eg, Deep Woods Off)
Mess kit w/ utensils
Flashlight/headlamp w/ fresh batteries
personal toiletries (including 1/2 roll toilet paper)
Compass
Poncho/rain gear

Fleece top/jacket/windbreaker
Change of clothes & extra socks
Warm clothes to sleep in
Adults: bring metal or plastic mug for coffee

Long Island Expressway (I-495) eastbound to Exit 71 for NY-24 toward Hampton Bays/Calverton
Turn left onto Edwards Ave S. Drive and continue for about 4 miles
Turn left onto Sound Ave in Baiting Hollow and continue about .7 miles to camp entrance
NOTE: Only adults registered with the troop as committee members or assistant scoutmasters are permitted to camp with the troop.
