Christopher Sandor Eagle Project (1986)
Christopher Sandor’s Eagle Scout Project involved the development of a Nature Trail at the Science Museum of Long Island at Leeds Pond Preserve. The Nature Trail was made of 2 inch deep wood chips and was designed to highlight major features of the area, including the remnants of an old foundation, effects of wildlife and nature on trees, major tree species of the area, and various small woodlot management techniques. Sander’s project was started to help provide a wider range of science programs for the Museum and other services. The Eagle Project was completed October 7, 1986.
