The Troop has won a lottery for Philmont 2012! It provides for a 12 person contingent (4 adults and 8 scouts) to spend 12 days hiking the mountains and mesas of Philmont, August 7th - August 21st, 2012. The event is spear-headed and coordinated by Kevin Watson.

Requirements-You Must: ¨ Be a Registered Scout at least 14 years of age by January 1, 2011 or have completed the 8th grade and be 13 years old by June 30th 2012. ¨ Pass a Medical Physical Examination, Philmont has a specific Height and Weight Requirements ¨ Be in top condition to carry your pack 60 or more miles, on rugged high altitude mountain trails ¨ Be emotionally and mentally ready to spend two weeks away form home travelling through the wilderness ¨ Eat all of the Philmont food to maintain the right amount of calories; there are no snack bars on the trail ¨ Travel in complete Class A uniforms when we are not on the trail ¨ Commit to attending the various crew shakedown activities and hikes; lack of compliance with Crew/Trek participation requirements may lead to dismissal from the Crew/Trek ¨ Follow the Scout Law in all of our endeavors
Trek Summary: 14 Full Action Packed Days- Includes 12 days at Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, New Mexico, round trip transportation, all meals, hotels for 2 nights before arriving at Philmont in either Colorado or New Mexico, activities before arriving at Philmont, crew gear, expedition shirt, and shakedown hikes and trips.
